SOMATICS FOR PSYCHEDELIC JOURNEYS: A PRACTICE GROUP
JANUARY 19TH, 6:30-9PM
A supportive collective space to practice somatic techniques that can facilitate the healing potential of psychedelics.
We begin with an accessible somatic practice, with various tools from polyvagal techniques to EFT (tapping) to embodied parts work. Then we do some journaling (or drawing or contemplative practice), with an option for drinking in the James Turrell closed loop of "Greeting the Light." We'll close with discussions in small groups and a closing circle.
Until our culture can embrace this cutting-edge healing modality, engaging in psychedelic work can be lonely and stigmatizing. Here is an intimate space to build camaraderie and connection with other folk doing aaaaall the deep soul-spelunking.
Preparation: Feel free reach out to [email protected] to set up an appointment to speak by phone with any questions you have, especially about how to prepare for our time together.

WEDNESDAY EVENING SERIES: CENTERING MOVEMENT
*set to return this coming spring!*
This class series is an exploration of movement forms to center you, dropping you in and down to the stillness underneath the churn of modern day life.
After a familiar Shiné flow (yoga + somatics), the added fifteen minutes of each class will experiment with fresh movement styles gleaned from myriad sources you won't find trending in yoga studios and gyms, from Sufi circling to Laban swings to Gurdjieff movements. We will be spelunking down into an apophatic mode of being - a suspended meditative state that is at once most deeply inside and beyond our most essential quality of Self.
Whether you're someone who just needs one evening a week to center down into your sane, quiet inner space, or an exploratory mover interested in Something Completely Different, this experimental series promises to leave you more curious, centered and grounded.
WATERY YOGA
*SUMMERTIME OFFERING*
This workshop explores how water deepens the experience of the yogic limbs of Asana (physical poses), Pranayama (breath work), and Pratyahara (sense withdrawal).
We'll circle up around an outdoor pool (address provided upon registration) for a yoga practice intended to bring you into deeper communion with the elemental power of water. We might play with our reflections in a balancing pose, or dangle our limbs in a supine shape, or meditate on the sound of water. We'll practice breathwork on the pool deck, with the option of exploring it underwater. Folk are invited to play around with yogic shapes that benefit from the release from gravity's pull - like backbends - and also to be floated around the pool one by one, suspended on pool noodles. We close with "crocodile savasana" on the pool deck, to warm back up and come back to earth.
Imagine: you're being floated around a warm pool by your feet, drifting in and out of the sun. Allow some extra time to hang out for a bit after our practice and commune! Lemonade, yoga mats that can get wet and pool noodles provided.
