Pendle Hill Retreat: Embodied Unhooking
2025 dates TBA
(retreaters are invited to arrive before formal events begin at 5pm, and to explore campus longer at the close of retreat)
A weekend devoted to collective clarity and support in learning some somatic approaches to equity work at the intersection of embodiment and spirituality. Explore practices that can help decolonize the mindbody from the toxic societal "hooks" that tug us away from our center. For this hard work we need all the tools in our toolbox: techniques from neuroscience for self-regulation & co-regulation in conflict situations, deep-dive reflective writing prompts, and communal ritual practice in sacred space.
Weekend Retreat includes:
- private room, unless you specially request a shared room
- four mindful movement classes (2 morning energizing sessions, 2 evening restorative sessions)
- Saturday afternoon workshop
- Centering practices from an Embodied Quaker perspective
- healthy, organic vegetarian fare to reset your dietary clock
This weekend offers the opportunity to deepen your practice in a small, like-minded group of 15.
Pendle Hill is a Quaker retreat center 20 minutes outside center city Philadelphia. Brinton House is a secluded cottage nestled back in the woods, complete with its own dining hall, cozy fireplace, and yoga studio with vaulted ceilings, wraparound windows, and gleaming radiant-heat floor, overlooking a bamboo-surrounded frog pond.
Participants should be comfortable with a flow-style of movement, with creative sequences of actions threaded together.
Your spot is reserved with full payment by Venmo or personal check.
All-inclusive tiered pricing model:
*$800 (supports 4 others in the Shiné community)
*$650 (pays for you)
*$400 (community supported rate)
Registration is non-refundable but transferable if you have a friend who would like to take your spot.
